Honda Insight now available to test drive at Trident Honda.
Building on over 20 years of hybrid innovation, Honda is delighted to announce its next big step forward: the new Honda Insight .
The original Honda Insight , launched in 1999, was the pioneer of hybrid technology in Europe. The new Insight will also break new ground by providing all the environmental and economical benefits of a hybrid at a price that’s more affordable than ever before.
And that's not all: the Insight also actively helps you maximise your fuel economy with Honda's unique Ecological Drive Assist System.
"The original Honda Insight pioneered hybrid technology and remains a symbol of Honda's commitment to innovative technology and fuel efficiency," says Takeo Fukui, Honda CEO. "This new Insight will break new ground as an affordable hybrid within the reach of customers who want great fuel economy and great value."
The new Honda Insight , which you can now test drive , is expected to sell in relatively high quantities. Honda is targeting annual global sales of 200,000 units per year and is aiming for affordability with the new Insight selling for several thousand pounds below the Toyota Prius. At the same time, the new hybrid should match or exceed the fuel economy of the Prius.
The new Honda Insight will also be more practical than the earlier Insight . It’s a five-door hatchback with ample room for five passengers. The aerodynamic design borrows elements from Honda’s FCX Clarity fuel cell vehicle and, along with Honda’s Civic Hybrid , will be produced at an expanded hybrid vehicle production line at the Suzuka factory in Japan.
